Night-lights !

Hello !

Yesterday, at night, I had a strong experience... I was just at the
window, smelling the fresh air (it's sooo really hot here in the last
days...) when mother nature came and talked to me !

At first,
I was quite impressed... but... as it was talking to me, I decided to
sing for it !

Of course, we recorded everything and
here it is...

Ladies an gentlemen, here is the first performance of a grito singing with an elemental, the rich sound of Psychogrito, with mother nature's at the lightshow !

C'est la Fete

At first, I had to go undercover. People are so backwards here. They've never seen a walking talking alien teddy bear. Come to think of it, outside Gritoloand, not many people have. I made a hat with three leaves and rubber lizard and off I went to party with Thai highschool kids.

If the bouncer sees me, I'm a dead Grito. But the kids turned out to be nimble Grito bearers - keeping me out of trouble and taking me to all the good spots.

Thai kids don't get to party much. All they do is watch TV and go to school. And they have to wear a uniform. You may think that's hot but they are fed up with it, trust me.

One good incentive to be in a school play or dance number is that you get to slip into something different.

Something REALLY different...

How wasted are their youthful energies... Given the opportunity, they sure can rock.

Then I met the Dr. Pornnipa Limpaphayon, Secretary of the Fundamental Education Commision, who flew down from Bangkok to check what all the raucus was about. She apologized, on behalf of Foreign Affairs, for having "misplaced" the Gritian embassy and promised they'd look into it. She told me to keep a low profile because, "This is Thailand." I said, "Yes, ma'am."

Me? Keep a low profile? She's out of her mind!

A loungy madness

This
weekend, I decided to find a party in Bordeaux by night, warming up the evening
with good friends I met here a few time ago. We had a great, very cool dinner, and
we were just tasting some really good after-dinner-liqueurs when a degenerated
post-commercial doll suddenly appeared to us, introducing herself to us as “Barbie-Turik,
the very-blond-brained-babe". What a strange name…

Floating in
the air, upside down as a first-degree psycho-disco listener, she told us that a
cool party was planned in the city, in a bar called the Velvet Lounge Café. In
a quick memory defrag, I could remember that King Negrito already tested
that trendy place a few monthes ago, and I decided to go there, in order to
make up my mind...

This
bar is
a modern designed place with two floors, and as soon I was told that
the music
makers were working in the underground, I took the stairs and
discovered a surprising mystical place, dug among the stony walls of a
corridor.

It did not take too much time to reach the bar, and I discovered that
people here are drinking many good and different cocktails, but also
some electric
ones really able to lighten up plastic straws !

They told
me that it was the first birthday party of the lounge bar, and I was immediately offered
some chocolate cake ! For sure, they know how to receive a Grito and even if I
just ate one hour before, as all the Gritos, I was not able to resist…

They (as one of them is often called "Maître Yoda") also offered me a complete Psycho-star-wars kit, including a strange kind of laser bow (or another cyber fishing rod), and
syringes full of fluorescent mana. I was at first a little bit worried by those
last gifts, but they were really not dangerous : all the barmen, for that birthday
party, were injecting a local cocktail (vodka, triple-sec, soda and a base of
fruit syrup) in the clients mouths in a way to say hello !

Finally, I
found something to do this all that stuff, and decided to wear it in a
total-techno look, as the pumpy and immersive music of the place exclusively
deals with electro-house beats. That evening, it was not so lounge, but it was a birthday party ,
wasn’t it ?

When
the
resident DJ of the place (called DJ B-Noytt) putted some magic LPs on
the decks,
I could not resist and came to dance. People (mostly quite young with a
local hype attitude) seemed a little bit stuck, and even if some humans
were having fun with the music, I quickly understood that the public of
a lounge bar do not really intends to turn into clubbling, even for a
birthday.

But
little Gritos are small, and they can dance everwhere without being
seen. So I danced, danced, and danced again until the DJ was asked to
switch off the sound. When the closing hour
rang, I was still having on the top a round ceiling light !

News from the underground

Dear readers,

fficeffice" />

King Negrito will be brief today, just wanted to drop in and say hello. I really want to thank all the Gritos for the incredible job they do, I am very proud to be a Grito, I guess the A12G is a very good image of collaboration across all oceans in order to create something unique and cool. And I also want to thank all those who offered us their help, the official artists like and the geographers like Gaggit …

Now you, humans, can start to understand that the Gritos were always there, that we are among you and that we live in our own world, just taking the best of yours, even if “the best” is different for each Grito.

Archive image, Gritian invasion Day -5

Now the question is “what’s next ?”, but that is a wrong question because next is already behind us, and we are heading for a higher goal. You think like us. You see the world through our eyes. For instance, king Negrito will potentially be one of the “Voices of a City” in the coming month, and that’s not all, there’s more to come ehehe, because now we have powerful allies like El Gonzo !

El Gonzo y Negrito: Somos Companeros !

This guy is amazing. He spends all his days with mask on the FACE not to be recognized like Batman, but well, when you cross Batman in the street you recognize him, don’t you ¿ (at least I do). Again this can be a cool game: try to find him, he is somewhere in the streets of Paris …maybe right down your building, ehehe… but this is something else, something really really big: the impact pf the Gritian offensive has been huge, even if you are not yet aware of it. For instance this picture was taken during the last Video Music Awards on MTV …

Negrito and P Diddy : who is the King ???

Yes you do not dream, this guy has a tee shirt with the Gritian crown and claims to be a Negro. I guess this is a “word twist” as the rappers are used to to say a Negrito, but still.. this is a sign !!!! we are going to win !!!!

That is short, I know, and I feel sorry for that but…I am undercover, hacking a connection to be able to blog… All I wanted to say tonight is that I really thank all the Gritos for the hard and dangerous work they do, it is not easy I can testify it. I also wanted today was to say a big “Thank  you, to all of you !!!!

Kisses,

King Negrito

PS: during this time, I am busy hitchhiking internet connections….

King Negrito: oh an Imac , ehehe !

Mes chères!

Sorry to have been "distant" - that's a classy way of saying "busy discovering the bar habits of the great north". Very busy idneed!

I am not proud to admit, but I hitched a ride to get back home, I was simply too tired to do the Grito-walk.

See you all soon!

An evening in cool hidden places...

In order to
avoid a massive population in this early September period, I decided last night
to explore two places that you won’t be able to find if you haven’t been
introduced by local people. These scenes take place in “Saint Michel”, one of
the biggest popular district of Bordeaux, but far from the usual streets and frequented
places. Everything started at the exact green arrow local time.

What’s the “Green arrow local time” ?

Well, you
can compare it to the green ray made by a sunset on the ocean. It lasts a few
seconds once a day, but happens here inside an high religious arrow, when
electric lights come to appear inside. If you miss that enlighten, you will
only see white and yellow lights, just like anywhere else in the town.

I decided
to test the less expensive restaurant I’ve ever hear about, called “Casa Pino”,
where it’s possible to eat a complete dinner - starter, main course, sweets, coffee,
bread and a bottle of wine – for only… 11 euros ! Of course, this is far form being
a gastronomic place, but you got the quantity, and I really enjoyed that
working-class ambiance, filled with conviviality and sincere simplicity. But
for sure, I was a little bit surprised by some parts of the local design…

We got an amazing
situation as the dinner was ending, when another big storm stroke the city and
an heavy rain blasted the streets… and penetrated inside the restaurant by the
roof of one of it’s room. Everyone went to run with sponges and all kind of useful
stuff (as umbrellas), the others taking pictures of that funny instant, in a
big and communicative laugh.

An
after-diner liquor was welcomed, and we decided to go to another place, where
some good friends were celebrating the end of their summer service in a typical
small restaurant. I met there a really cool human, called Thomas, and talked a
lot about jazz, sailing, and sharing philosophical instants for the best !

He offered
me to have a VIP emplacement near to the bar, a wooden structure looking like local
and destroy opera’s balcony !

As everyone
was taking about human things, I decided to move discreetly to the main (and
empty) room of the restaurant, in order to discover the atmosphere of the (empty)
restaurant
called “Le boudoir.

And I was instantly filled with a warm and quiet mood. You’ve
got there plenty of different styles, somewhere between a traditional home ambient
lighting a second-hand design mixing ancient and modern times. As a part of the
process, I was invited to participate and here is the result : a typical
postcard picture, where I look like an ancient and sage Grito from the past…

This
confrontation with so many recollections and smooth lights brought me a really peaceful
and convivial time, thinking about my mission for A12G and relaxing with a
Grito sized glass of fresh vodka.

And guess
what ? As usual, since I’m there, while I was trying to “escape” discreetly in
order to go to bed (it was 04 a.m), sir Thomas surprised my silent walk and
told me “No, no, you can’t leave without being offered a last royal drink…
Champage ?” ))))

Hope that you'll like that special tonight live show !

See you soon !

By the way... I'd be glad to have fresh news from all Gritos around world ... Are they playing the hide and seek without me ?
