Today I woke with a big jump and shouted out “where do we go to today Miss Fille Ska?” She was making me espresso in the kitchen and she tells me that today she must have something called a “Job Inter View”. I am asking her what this is and she is explaining that humans must have these things called “Jobs”. If you have a “Job” then someone gives you money for it, and then you can buy good things like cake and beers. I am wondering what kind of a “Job” she is wanting to have, I mean, do they come in different colours and sizes? Do they make chocolate flavoured ones? But she is already telling me that this is for a good “Job” and that it is in the ffice:smarttags" />Bight Town (“well, Hove, actually” she says) and we must get a train there! How exciting! Soon we were out on the streets on our way to this “Hove, Actually”.

The time on the train was very short and in 3 minutes later we were there! There was a HUGE building next to the station that said “Dubarry Perfumerie” and this is where we were going. I was suddenly thinking that there would be lots of smells and potions in this building, maybe even top secrets like Charlie and his chocolate factory! But it did not seem that this building was still a perfumerie, so I was a bit sad. But la Fille Ska was telling me a story about the factory so I stopped being sad to listen. She tells me that once upon a time (because all stories start in this way) Fille Ska’s grandmaman, who was named Ivy, was a young lady like her and she had worked at the perfumerie when they still made soaps and après-rasage. Then she met a man who drove the trains in Bright Town and she fell in love with him. Soon, as is the way with humans, they were married and had baby humans! One of them was la Fille Ska’s maman, and when she was older, she too worked in the factory, but now they made boxes (Then she grew up, studied Art and ran away with a handsome man she met on a train in Germanyland and he became La Fille Ska’s papa, but this is another story). So now, she says, she might become the third generation of women in her family to work there! Before I could ask her what is “generation” and why she was going to make boxes, she had disappeared inside the building and I was left with Le Sam. It was raining now, so we hid inside the factory to wait.
Long, long time later La Fille Ska came back, laughing at what had happened and saying that she should not have been sent there, because she is not a “native” or something. This I did not understand, but I am sure she will explain this. But now my report gets more exciting, because my hosts tell me that we are going on an adventure back to the Bright Town because they have something special to show me…
Back in the Bright Town, we walked through the streets to a big park with many people in it. And then I saw why I had been brought to this place – oh my Godness, a PALACE! A Palace fit for a Gritian King!!

It is very beautiful...
This is called The Pavillion and is a famous building here in Bright Town. Well, I Brittonito, Gritian Ambassador to Bright Town, by these words claim this Pavillion for the Summer Palace of King Negrito!

It was very hard climbing the building to put the flag on it!
It is a good palace, is it not? It was built by an English Prince and is very beautiful. Fille Ska says it looks like it is made of icing sugar, but surely this is wrong, or it would melt in the rain? It looks like a Palace for a Prince, from the Arabian Nights, with all its spiky towers and domes

I am looking for Aladdin, maybe he has flown away on his carpet?
As this Pavillion (Now officially the Pavillion de Gritos…I must write to the Council men and tell them this, so they can tell all the tourists on their leaflets…) is so very big, I have decided that all the Gritos, Gritas and Baby Grits with their humans and friends are welcome here. Look at this picture, I am so tiny in it!

The first one who finds me wins a prize!
It is even too big for maybe Grangrito by himself!
The Sun had decided to hide his face away for the day so it was mostly cold and I was glad of my scarf. I am hoping that the summer, it is not finished yet, because I am wanting to go down to the beach for a piquenique soon and put my toes in the big big sea. I will not do this unless there is sun, or it will be very cold! My Fille Ska says that maybe we can do this at the weekend when perhaps we shall have some important visitors (so we can have extra rosé wine and cakes!). Please, all be crossing your fingers and toes and legs that it will be sunny at the weekend so that Brittonito can have his piquenique! But the best news is this: La Fille Ska got a telephone calle and maybe a fairy made her wish come true, because she will be the third generation of her family to work at the Dubarry Perfumerie! In fact, it is not boxes she will be making, but she will be playing computer games!! Even better, she will get paid money to do this! She will be playing them, en francais, and making sure the words are making sense, and the test she did showed them that even though she is not francaise, her French is as good as a francaise – now I know what the “native” thing means! Hurrah! So today I learned a new story about my Fille Ska, and found a Palace.
A good day for Brittonito, a little Grito in a Big Bright Town.
