Firstly, I must thank the people who crossed their toes and their fingers for me, because there was sunshine this weekend and Brittonito got to go to the beach!! Yayness!! (I am learning fast the ways to communicate well with La Fille Ska, also with the jumping and the shouting too, but with less big shoes…)

This is the beach at ffice:smarttags" />Bright Town:

This is the very very very big sea, and far away is Gritoland…I screw up my eyes but I cannot see it from here. I do feel good to know that my King is there somewhere though. As you can see, there is no sand on this beach, instead it is covered with lots of little stones. These are good to throw into the sea, they make a good “sploooush” noise! Also, here at Bright Town, they have a thing which is called “Pier”. I ask La Fille Ska what it is, “Pier”, and she is explaining that it is like a bridge that goes out over the waves of the sea, and that there are many fun things to do and see on it. She says this is where she met the “Dalek” once before. I am not understanding this, but she tells me that people who are reading her bloggery will know what this is. Once there were two of these “Piers” in Bright Town, “West Pier” and “Palace Pier”, but “West Pier” is now old and broken. People cannot go onto it anymore, and this made me sad…I think I will La Fille Ska about this more another time. So now we have the “Pier” and it is very big:

Beacause the sun was very hot, I took off my Incognito Skarf (La Fille Ska says this is a clever joke on the word scarf, because it is black and white) and sat in the sun:

La Fille Ska told me not to sit in the sun for too long, or my skin would get burned. Burned? Would I catch on fire? Is the sun doing this? Would I have to jump in the sea to stop the fire? I ask these many questions to my Fille Ska, and she reminds me of the things that La Femme Machine told to my brother Amegrito before about the sunshine. As she says, the sun can burn the skin of humans, like her, but that maybe I will be OK because I have Grito skin, and that is already very brown. She explains to me that her little taches de rousseur are from the sun, where he is kissing her skin, but that she will burn very quickly if she does not use “sun screen”. I now understand more about humans, my host is very clever!
Then something very strange happened...there was a big splash and a soft voice said "hello, little Grito!" to me - there was a lady who was half a fish and half very beautiful woman sitting next to me! She tells me her name is Bettie and that she is a "Mermaid". I know that these are very rare creatures and that I am lucky to meet her!

Brittonito and Bettie
We are wispering about all the magics and mysteries of the sea, and I am wanting to ask her "do you know, oh beautiful Mermaid, why they are calling it Bright Town?", but I find that I am falling asleep with the softness of her voice because suddenly, I wake up to hear a pretty music coming from behind me! I see that my Mermaid has gone, and instead I am can hear the sounds of the carosel!

The carosel and the shy lady, she does not want to be in my photo!
I ask La Fille Ska if we can have a go on the carosel, and she says maybe, perhaps, later, we shall see. "First," she says, "we shall have a little something to eat in the Pavilion Park!" and away we go!

Here I am sitting happily in the park, eating Toblerone chocolate and drinking pink grape juice! No, it is not rosé, because it is too early in the day for this!

Look at the size of this bird! I hope he doesn't want my lunch!
After a good time in the park, and a little sleep to make us all feel refreshed, it was now getting darker, and La Fille Ska tells me that we are going back to the beach again. I thought this was very strange, because in the dark, I would not be able to see the sea and I might fall in it, but NO! Finally, I see why they are calling this place the Bright Town! Everywhere along the beach there are many, many light, and even fire-works coming from a big boat on the sea! Bang! Bang bang!! It was amazing!! But too quick to take a good photo! Still, it was good, so you must hear my words and try to imagine this for yourselves. Even the carosel had lights on it!

It is the same Pier, but all glowing in the dark!

Oh! Oh, the carosel is all lighted too!
But then I was a sad Grito, because the very big man who was in charge of the carosel is telling me that I am too small to go on this ride today
He is letting La Fille Ska go on it, but not me
I must eat a lot more chocolate and cakes and drink strong wines before I can go on this - I must get as big as Grangrito!! So, for this time, I am just watching my Ska on her horse...can you see her?

Oh look, there she is! I am very jealous!
So today, I am learning that I must get bigger, that Mermaids are very beautiful and finally, I am learning the meaning of "Bright Town"! Yayness!
